I find that, when writing bios, it’s really helpful to look at a list or a chart like the one above. Picking two or three traits from each chart and building a character based around them will give you a really interesting bio, because they will serve as a reminder that characters need depth and dimension.

Is a huge Disney nerd, though she also loves fantasy things and even some anime, etc. Frequently dresses up as characters for parties, which she considers easy money. Is pretty good at doing her own makeup, and even creates some of her own costumes. Changes her hair color a lot. Can also sing, whether it’s Disney songs or popular songs on the radio. Considers herself a real life princess. Currently in college, taking acting classes. Outside of costume, she has a very quirky sense of style. Has no idea she’s half faerie.
Serena Newport • Dhampir • Marissa Von Bleicken
In high school. On the cheerleading squad. Best friend is Sage. Has no idea she’s a half vamp, mostly because she’s never met her dad. Is not quite as cheerful as Sage, but she has her moments of silliness.
Sybella Nightingale • Vampire • Hannah Minx
As a human, wanted to become an actress. Headed out to Hollywood, but after having no sort of luck, headed back home to NYC. It was there that she was offered a job. She became a late night horror movie host, taking on the persona of a vampire. She actually was turned into a vampire in her twenties. After a good run, she retired to Rosewood, where she now lives in a fantastically spooky house.
Jessamine • Seelie Faerie • Kimberly Whalen
A pretty, curious faerie. She can come off as coy at times. Has a love of dresses. Can sing, though she doesn’t consider herself a musician. It’s just something she likes to do when she feels like it.

Nicole Kidman is a vampire. An actress with an over-dramatic personality.
Jim Carrey as an incredibly eccentric Seelie faerie.

Was turned by the Unseelie King. This was done after Jasper was able to impress the King by fooling him. He’s a trickster, and can be a bit of an ass sometimes. Princess Cordelia doesn’t like him being around Rosewood, having her suspicions that he’s loyal to her father. This may or may not be true. While he plays for his own team, he wouldn’t mind selling someone out if it meant his own gain.

Old vampire from Scandinavia. She’s a classy lady, but is great at fighting. Acts as protector of the vampires.
Donna Leighton • Human • Eve Myles
Has been a member of The Institute for several years after being recruited. She soon learned that all supernaturals were not bad, and The Institute was killing off ones that hadn’t done anything wrong. When she tried to confront the leaders about this, she was brushed off. She had been living in Rosewood at the time, and left the Institute to go into hiding. She plans to help out the supernaturals when the Institute strikes again.

An angel of death. Often wears black, but will sometimes change the color of her hair. Is nice and can be quite cheerful.
Jaelle Christenel • Vampire • Noomi Rapace
Gypsy. Family traveled quite a bit. Lived a poor life, and it only got worse when her mother died. Found an out when she fell in love with a vampire and ran away with him. Was turned into a vampire by said man, but they went separate ways after an argument. Jaelle is a smart, independent woman. She makes money by selling jewelry, though she doesn’t mind reading your cards for a few bucks. Was believed to have powers as a human.

Baby vamp. Was only eighteen at the time of her turning. Her emotions are usually in extremes. Lives with her maker/whoever took her in. Is trying to figure out what to do with her life.

Goes to high school. Acts like he ate one too many pixie stix. Is genuinely nice to everybody, does random acts of kindness, is energetic and almost always in a good moon (unless something really bad happens. Otherwise, he just brushes things off his shoulders.)

Really awesome art teacher. Loves what he teaches, and wants the kids to use art as an outlet to express themselves. Grew up in Rhode Island, but moved to Rosewood after he was turned into a werewolf and received a job offer. Hasn’t really gotten acquainted with the other werewolves, but that’s because he’s either at school, at home, or (where he spends most of his time if he’s not at school,) The Beanery.
Theodore Edelstein • Vampire • Zachary Quinto
An adorable vampire who was turned in the 80’s. Has had a bad love life, and is convinced Ben & Jerry are the only men for him. Loves sappy romances and 80’s teen movies.
Bijou Rousselle • Vampire • Louise Bourgoin
Was a French prostitute in the 1800’s. Started at a young age. Had a baby that she gave away at the age of seventeen. Was born a half vampire, but snapped and ate her pimp. She stole money afterwards and began traveling. Bijou is flirty and charming, but shies away in matters of love. Moved into Rosewood a year ago.

Originally from Italy. Was a witch that became an opera singer. Was turned into a vampire to preserve her talent. Loves mystical and dark things, fabulous clothing and doing things big. Is a kind woman who never minds giving out money to those that need it. Gives live performances in NYC.

Call him Reggie. He’s suave, loves to talk to people, and is truly a playboy. He’s narcissistic and can be an ass when he wants to be. But he’s not completely bad. He shows signs of humanity, and has daddy issues.
Sylvia • Ghost • Kate Winslet
Lived in the town before Rosewood was built. Fell in love with the vampire that lived in the castle, and carried on a secret relationship with him. It was found out by the townspeople what he was, and he was murdered on the night she was to be turned, right as he was turning her. As the blood hadn’t been exchanged, Sylvia died as well from the loss of blood. She has haunted the building, which is now the college, ever since.
Vicky Nickelson • Vampire • Dia Frampton
Bisexual. Vegetarian. Food blogger. And also a recently turned vampire. Vicky’s life was normal before; she had a wonderful girlfriend and an awesome job. That all changed when she was attacked one night by a vampire who had plans on turning her, and was saved by a different vampire. Living on the night schedule hasn’t been easy, as her girlfriend is starting to get suspicious. Though Vicky has to wonder, why has her girlfriend been acting so strange as well?

The maid/cook/lackey at the Manor. The pay is good, she’s given shelter and food, and once you get used to the creepy residents, it’s not so bad. She’s a hard worker, and always tries to maintain a cheerful attitude. She knows that the people at the Manor are not humans. She’s a bit of a spaz as well as a perfectionist. Is currently in college.

In high school. Comes off as mean and a loner. Is actually just lonely, though she’d never admit it. She had an Unseelie parent and a Seelie parent, but after a bad breakup, she was left with her Unseelie mom, who she was forced to side with. Secretly has Seelie tendencies.
